Jolie Demands Respect in Hollywood, Wanted director says
June 22nd, 2008, All Angelina Jolie,Although Angelina Jolie has been typecasted in various ways, being ‘just a pretty face’ or a ‘U.N. Ambassador’ or being ‘one of the sexiest and most beautiful women alive’, people who’ve worked with Jolie says there’s much more to her than her looks.
Angelina Jolie may be a good-looking actress who’s been paid millions to do her films, but she has the ability to h old her own in an industry dominated by men. The director of Wanted Timur Bekmambetov says that Jolie commands authentic respect in
Hollywood. He also adds that no other female stars who could upstage Jolie. He said that during the set of Wanted, Angelina Jolie ended up teaching co-star James McAvoy and helping him get through several scenes.
“Angelina was his mentor, she helped him. She was the Hollywood person, and his journey was basically the journey of his character,” says Bekmambetov to the New York Post.
TheEnvelope.com columnist Tom O’Neil says that even with Jolie’s ever-growing family, she still plays as hard as the Hollywood guys on set. He added saying, “She seems to be this frail, slender, delicate creature when she’s strolling down the red carpet and then becomes the ultimate symbol of female empowerment in these films.”
I love it when Jolie-s co-workers defend her. You can really see how strong of a character Jolie has, despite what others are saying about her wild and crazy past.
